Seriously NBC I just want to talk.

I love women’s cycling, this zine is about how American broadcasters are failing an amazing sport. A collaboration with Audra McNamee.

Page 1: "Women's cycling is thrilling. In 2024, Kasia Niewiadoma won the Tour de France Femmes by 4 seconds on the final climb. The mens' tour was decided by 6 minutes on day 4 (out of 21)." Kasia powers up a climb. Page 2: Allia holds a laptop, in three panels she gets angrier as a 'not available' symbol appears, eventually throwing the laptop away. "I can watch any mid-level men's race I want on U.S. TV. So why don't they show every major women's race?" "Only Europeans know what happened in the women's Tour de Romandie."
page 3: "you need 3 streaming subscriptions to watch cycling in the U.S." Flo bike $29.99, peacock $7.99, HBO $16.99, Allia hangs upside down holding a stack of cash about $400 per year. "And we don't even get all the women's races?" Page 4: "When the DO cover races, NBC chooses commentators who have never before seen women race bikes." An old man wearing commentator headphones and a polo, labeled: Phil Liggett being paid to commentate women's cycling, "They're making women climb the Col de La Madeleine?? It's too hard!" Allia, exhausted: "Name a woman, Phil."
Page 5: NBC's Tour de France Hommes coverage: 2 commentators in a booth, 3 men in suits, 2 men with mics and cameras. NBC's tour do France Femmes coverage: two commentators talking to each other via laptops. "But at least there are two commentators for the Tour de France Femmes...For the Vuelta Feminina they make a man talk to himself for 8 days." A man with a mic is trapped in a tiny box, "I miss my children. Page 6: Allia's distorted face fills the bottom of the page, "You want to talk Money? Fine! How is cycling going to make a profit when the coverage is incompetent, incomplete and expensive? Literally just let me pay you to watch these women race."
